I wont waste time, so just read the other reviews. This is a nearly-worthless and overpriced product.

Some of you should consider a Dell or Acer laptop the next time around because if you can afford the Apple Macbook, you should be able to afford the accessories to make it work in your environment. [...]
Thirty. Measly. Dollars.
Yet many of you gripe as if it’s the end of the world, that Apple is the only company that “overcharges” for something that “should be free”. And none of you managed to try and shop around? The aftermarket offers similar parts for cheaper, ya know.
This is what happens when Apple reduces their prices… suddenly the double-wide owners can afford one yet they complain over $30 like their single-wide brethren. Just because you bought a $1000 laptop doesnt mean you’re entitled to anything except a computer that works as advertised with the service and support Apple is known for. And even if you did get the adapter for free, others may need a different adapter and they’d be on here whining about how they should be entitled to a free adapter too.
They lowered the prices of their computers to put it in range of your overstretched budget yet you somehow believe you’re entitled to more? just take your pretentious little butt to starbucks, bring your friend who doesnt have a macbook so you can gloat about how awesome you and your laptop are in front of them, and pretend you’re an all-important writer (blogger) while drinking a $4 charred, oversweetened mocha you had to put on your secured credit card instead of proving to amazon shoppers how far you’ll go into debt just to look like a spoiled college student.

J&R got this to me pronto. Kudos to them.
This adapter would not be necessary if Apple had left the full-size DVI port they used to include on the MacBook Pro. Boo at Apple for screwing its customers.

Everyone on here that gives this a negative review either doesn’t know how to read so they bought this adapter when they have a DVI-I connection and not a DVI-D connection or they are simply CHEAP and haven’t a clue about the cost on Apple’s end. For those that can’t read, YOUR AT FAULT NOT APPLE, and for those that are cheap, well, some of you want Apple to throw in a FREE Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter, others want a Mini DipslyaPort to DVI adapter and still others want a Mini DIsplayPort to Video Adapter… so is Apple suppose to include like 20 adapters and cables to cover everyone’s personal needs? Get a clue and quit being a cheap miser! Bunch of whining kids! This cable is PERFECT for what it is suppose to do. You spend an arm and a leg on a high end computer and complain that you don’t get the kitchen sink… deal with it or buy a cheap Intel box and run Windows!

Apple has absolutely been asenine with this laptop. I purchased the laptop at CDW through a corporate program. I had to buy the WORTHLESS adapter there too. I will get to the worthless part in a moment but lets go over a few things first that are OBVIOUS FLAWS in the product.
1. Who in their right mind makes an adapter that is so non flexible and bulky as this one, why does it need that extra 4 inches of cabling and that absurdly huge housing, I have seen DISPLAYPORT to DVI adapters that have a much smaller footprint.
2. Apple must be on some sort of drugs for creating Mini Displayport all together, they should have just taken the VESA standard Display Port standard and slapped it into the laptop instead of stepping in and making yet ANOTHER crappy proprietary system.
3. The all white “apple” look MUST GO, it attracts fingerprints scratches and whatnot and DOES NOT GO WELL with an ALUMINUM Laptop, hey Apple, throw us a bone here, give us an accessory that matches the stinking laptop!
Those are the three most obvious flaws. Now we move onto the BIGGEST, and BADDEST, flaw of them all.
THE PRODUCT DOES NOT LAST MORE THAN A MONTH. I don’t know if others have this problem but I have been through 3 of these little turds in the last 3 months and they all fail after a month.
Apple, your laptop rocks, your standards suck, and your adapters suck, FIX IT!
Apple, I officially rate this product
EPIC FAIL TO THE POWER OF EPIC INFINITY
