Great upgrade from my integrated sound card. I primarily watch movies on my PC, and this sound card really brings out the audio experience.

I always liked creative sound cards. And this is the best sound card they made until today. So... I don't need to say anything else. It's great! Watching blurays with it is wonderful!

I bought the X-Fi Titanium hoping that it would work with Windows Vista or XP on a machine with an Nvidia 790i motherboard and Nvidia 9800GX2, but it doesn't.

I don't know why (creative support team doesn't know either) the card produces crackling and popping sounds from my rear speakers when I use the Dolby Digital or DTS Connect with my 9800GX2 in SLI while I am gaming. Many people has the same issues as me (in 790i EVGA forums), but untill now, there are no driver updates, patches, etc., that may fix this problem.

I have always had issues with my creative sound cards, but this time I believed that this Vista Certified product would work as expected but it doesn't.

I regret my purchase, I will never buy another creative product ever.

I installed this product, wrestled with the software for it, including the patch needed to make it work with Vista, and then found it did not provide any advantage with my video games. In fact, I uninstalled it and went back to using the on board Realtek sound chip with better results.

Poorer but wiser, I would recommend not buying this product, at least if you use the Vista OS.

I bought this card as part of my new "dream box" after spending over a year studying for a test (and passing :) ). This box is running Ubuntu 8.04, and out of everything, this sound card is the only thing giving me problems. And by problems I mean it doesn't work. At all. There are pages upon pages of people asking how to get this thing working, and Creative's single driver is outdated and borderline useless.

So though it pains me to say this (not too painful as my NVidia 9800 GTX is doing a fine job powering my 30" Samsung LCD at 2560x1600 with an up-to-date driver), I'm probably going to have to return this product and go with a different vendor. This isn't a "let's punish the vendor because I'm an offended geek" move, it's more of a "I have no sound" move.

So I can't comment on the Windows experience, which is probably most people, but with Vista being perhaps the worst Microsoft operating system ever, and XP being phased out by resellers like Dell, HP, etcetera, it behooves us all to choose gear that doesn't lock us into one company's shoddy products. If you think that you'll NEVER run anything but Windows, this line of sound cards might work out for you. I like to leave my options open.
