Hi. I bought a Maxtor oneTouch 4mini external hard drive, then put a few things on, using a Windows xp computer, and now I am using a Toshiba Lab-top and when I plug it in, a window pops up saying “Power surge on hub port; a usb device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port” and when I click it, it tells me that I should remove it. Can anyone help?:]

I have a maxtor as well. Does yours have two usbs to plug in to the laptop?
    Are they both plugged in?
These drives demand alot of power, if your Toshiba is a bit older it may not have the juice to power the drive. Maxtor sells a wall adapter that should solve the problem.
