Key in *#0000# on the ORIGINAL nokia and a Menu will open showing the phones firmware version, the same menu will NOT open on a fake phone.
*EDIT* Key in *#92702689# in the ORIGINAL nokia phone and the warranty menu will open but the same wont happen if the phone is a fake and the same will apply for keying in *#06# which will open up the phones menu listing the IMEI number.

I just bought Nokia N97 from US, and I tried to insert the code *#0000# and the data shown that this phone has software relesed around 2008? how it possible, coz N97 launched on 2009?
and i tries to entered code *#06# and Imei number shown then I entered to the link http://www.numberingplans.com/?page=analysis&sub=imeinr and the result is mobile equipment type is Nokia 6100? what it is mean? my Nokia type is N 97
and once more I tried to check the internal memory capacity but is seems to small (just around 1GB??), the Nokia web said it must 32 GB.
is there any other way to check the originality of my phone?
I am very worry if my phone is fake or imitation of china phone
