I would go for hp2601tx as it has a better graphics . If u could extend ur budget u could get a much better lenovo y410 775745q with core2duo 7100 @ 1.8 ghz , nvidia 8400m gs , 2 gb ram , 160gb hdd , 1.3 mp webcam , 14.1 display for 57000 in chennai!

According to the specs you show the lenovo is faster than the HP but if you are looking for a fast loptop look for a loptop with T7200 processor or higher.

i best propose u buy a Lenovo y500 77614EQ , it has a better processor and bigger display, ,, and costs less then the other one. but that is mainly because it has Intel GMA 950 graphics (weaker and cheaper) while HP DV2601TX has the nvidia 8400gs which is a separate card and more powerful then the GMA 950 ,, .. now heres the trade off … for 49000 u get better processor and bigger display but weaker graphcs ,
but for 51.990 u get weaker processor smaller display but more powerfull grapghics ,,,, so now u have to judge upon what ur use will be , if u need to use it for stuff like word processing and other processor intencive tasks u need the Lenovo y500 77614EQ , and because none of them has a graphics processor good enough to play games u cant use it for heavy gaming. . i hope it helps, i got a HP 6720s for 49000 PAK rs , it has 1.60GHZ c2d processor, 1 GB ram, 120 GB HDD, and INTEL GMA 965 GPU, with a 15.4 Inch display.
