I tried to update my N73 mobile using the Nokia Software Updater on a VISTA machine. The process started and as usual my phone switched off. I did not do anything and waited for long and finally a message came informing me that the update process failed and so..

Now, the issue is that my N73 does not start and it is like a dead phone.

How do I restore my phone.

First try with Nokia Software Updater.

If still your phone is dead:

You might have to format it. Below is the procedure.

CAUTION: REMOVE MEMORY CARD, ALL DATA ON PHONE INCLUDING CONTACTS, CALENDER AND OTHER PREFERENCE WILL BE REMOVED!!

If you are an expert user:

    1) Download Nokia Phoenix 2008 & Install it
    2) Download RM-133’s latest version from Rapidshare, install it
    3) Star Phoenix n plug in the cable
    4) From File-> Connection Manager–> Choose NO CONNECTION
    5) From Flashing–> Firmware update–> Select the software version you like to install
    6) Don’t forget to click on DEAD PHONE FLASHING
    7) Click on refurbish. Press the On switch when software asks to do so…
Your phone will be formatted within some minutes..

    That’s it buddy!

But if you are not expert user, better you visit nearest Nokia Care.

it is one of those tricky situations, first u should have tried the software updater urself, nokia has service centre’s for it. it is a risky thing to completely lose ur phone. pls always have back up for ur all data, keep the batterry full charged and plugged in for extra security, if u want to try it again. for now as alexx roxx said try phoenix or take it to nearest nokia service station.
