it does not sufficiently cool my computer. I'm on my laptop for up to 10 hours a day and the fan is just too weak to provide much cooling. I'd bought a Targus that had 2 fans and I returned it right away because it was a little loud and seemed flimsy. It did a better job of cooling though, which is what is most important to me. My laptop's only a few months old and doesn't get super hot, but in the summer in Texas any heat is very noticeable. I love the way it looks and feels, though. It will probably be okay once the weather cools down. For the price, it wasn't a great deal overall.

I have lost two laptops to overheating of the CPU. Over the years the pads that hold the computer off the work service have grown smaller... this reduces the air circulation under the laptop.

This has been a costly experience not having the cooling pad.

I saw that the reviews were mixed on this but I decided to try it anyway. It looked like a good design and flowed air in the direction I needed. Sadly this cooler failed miserably for me. The fan turns very very slow and produces very little air movement. Yeah it's silent because your moving hardly any air. I installed some temp monitoring software to see how it fared. My laptop cools better atop a large dictionary used as a heatsink than when this cooler is used. If there was a switch to increase fan speed or use two fans I could see this being a decent cooler. But as it is, it is garbage. I will either buy another antec which I liked, but the power cords suck, or I will try something else.

I had high hopes that the Logitech Notebook Cooling Pad would cut down on the amount of time my Fujitsu 17" laptop fan came on and off. It didn't. I also had high hopes that the fact that it hooks up to the laptop through a usb port would have no negative effect on the performance of this older laptop, with 1GB of memory. Unfortunetely... it did.

The Pro's:
- Nice design including color scheme and shape.
- Seems durable.
- Doesn't need a spare power source; hooks up to laptop.
- Does improve airflow.
- Comfortable on your lap.
- Protects your laptop from excess heat build-up.

The Con's:
- Uses system resources (power via usb port) and takes away from system memory.
- Large... which if you have a 17" laptop it's perfect, but with a smaller 15" screen laptop, it would be too big.
- Makes noise, so if the fan on your laptop is already going, this doubles the fan noise you're already experiencing.
- Takes away from the sleek design of your laptop.
- Adds weight and bulk, taking away from your portability and making it necessary to buy a bigger laptop case to carry essentially 'two' laptops.

If you purchased this to go under your laptop at home, and never really carry your laptop around... this is probably a good way to add airflow underneath your computer. If you want a highly portable cooling solution, look elsewhere.

I purchased this cooling pad to protect my laptop, and it certainly does keep it cool - but - I don't really think it necessary to have a blower running to provide enough cooling. I saw a product that consists of a sheet of formed aluminum that would provide an airspace under the computer to provide air intake as the laptop was designed to do on its own. Most fo the time I don't even plug the Logitech in now - it serves the same function as the one piece aluminum. The Logitech works as advertised, I just think its overkill.
