This camera has two big flaws and one minor annoying software flaw.
First, it is impossible to position the camera correctly. Ideally, you want a videoconferencing camera to be as close to "front and center" of where you are looking as possible, which means that with a flat panel it should be close to the screen's center. However, this camera only comes with a stand. Therefore, it's only practical to have the camera way off to one side. Result: you never look the other caller "in the eye" but always appear to be looking to the side.

Second, the image quality is fairly poor. Even just displaying on the local monitor, the motion lag is significant (i.e., I move and there is a clear lag until the image moves), and the colors are usually very washed out.

Finally, this camera has a very annoying software bug: it blocks Thunderbird upgrades. For some reason, it ties up a Windows file used for e-mail programs (that the Quickcam certainly does NOT need all the time) and this blocks the upgrades of Thunderbird. HUGELY annoying.

Installed the quickcam and it worked okay the first time. Then when I tried to use it again a screen pulled up and said there was a serious error occurance and Windows would help find a solution. Windows could not find a solution and it won't let me take it out. Has messed up my computer and I'm afraid it is going to cause big problems. Boxed it up and returned it. Afraid it's too late. Beware.

I ordered a quick cam and gave NEW credit card info, but you did not honer that. Instead you chaRGED THIS TO MY OLD CREDIT CARD, AND AS A RESULT COST ME AN OVERCHARGE.

The cameras best features were a huge letdown:

"Rightlight": results in blurred images. People or objects look like blurred steaks when they pass by the camera in dark or even slightly dim situations.

Motion tracking: Only works in chat mode (I would have liked in in motion detect mode). Even in chat mode it loses your face very easily leaving you to adjust the camera back into place and restart the whole tracking feature.

Autofocus: I had the camera pointing out the window the camera can easy be confused into autofocusing close on the glass of the window instead of far into the distance.

I bought it today, installed the software, plugged in the camera and got the blue screen. After 2 hours of work, rebooting, uninstalling, installing , blue screens, downloading new software, the customer service ended up by blaming Microsoft, even if the computer works just fine when their webcam is not connected. Must return it as soon as possible and never buy a Logitech webcam again.
