So my dad gave me his old blackberry to use so I wouldn’t have to purchase a new phone. I cannot afford to add a data plan as I am saving to go to Australia. Ok so heres the deal, My Iphone was recently stolen, and when you first buy the Iphone, they lock you into a two year contract. So I ordered the Blackberry Curve and it is either coming Thursday and Friday but when I get it, I am just going to put it onto my 2 year plan. How long will it take to activate it once I get it.

… have had the data plan before and just don’t need it. I bought a new blackberry online and was told that I need to have a data plan to activate it. If i get it activated with the plan, then cancel the data plan, will the phone still work?

… verizon & my phone just recently broke, but my dad has his old blackberry bold he is going to let me have. Will I be able to activate it? All im going to use it for is for call & text, no internet, I dont have a data plan. Like if I call to activate, will it hook up? I know your supposed to have a data plan, but I only want to use it for call/text.
