toshiba laptop
♥Miss Inquisitive♥ asked:

I have a toshiba laptop and one of the local connections shows a “1394 net adapter” as connected. Is this a built in wireless adapter? Can I connect wirelessly to a router using this adapter?

A 1394 Net Adaptor Connection is basically Win2k/XP’s way of telling you that you have a Firewire interface installed in your system.

that is for the firewire port made by apple.

It’s just like USB but smaller port.

1394 refers to a FireWire controller - adapter

Not wireless. It is a Firewire adapter. You can read more about it at:

No, it is not a wireless adapter, you can check for wireless adapter, right-click on your “My Computer” and click: Properties>Hardware>Device Manager then check for Network Adapters in description you have to see Wireless, if there is no-wireless adapter. then buy one USB or PCMCIA version. I recommend to buy a card with the same brand as your router.
