I wanted to upgrade the video on my office desktop and chose this Visiontek ATI HD 4650 and an HP 2159m LCD monitor. I only use the computer for 2-D apps and looking at jpegs. I am not into gaming and don't watch HD video on this computer.

I am not sure whether it was the card or the monitor or the combination of the two but my display is superb now and I couldn't be more pleased. The card has an HD resolution level and I have it at the max. The widescreen monitor supports this resolution well. Everything is extremely crisp and colors are dynamic. The card was easy to install and comes with DVI ports and an S-Video port. I recommend using DVI with a DVI-capable monitor like the HP.

In considering this upgrade, I consulted with experts who said that there is really nothing that can be done to dramatically improve display performance if you aren't into gaming or HD movies. That just isn't true. If you have an older monitor and card, you can upgrade the experience dramatically by purchasing new, HD-capable components for a total of roughly $270. You will be glad you did.
