I agree with some of your folks. Magellan is crap and their tech support, well, yoou could get a lobotomized chimpanzee to do better. After numerous emails to Magellan, I could not get the problem fixed. I took out a 1 year service policy and sent it in for repairs- it still malfunctions. Magellan Roadmate 1200

1. GPS coordinates set for "home". When using Gps to find home, it misdirects me to a place before or well after my destination. yes, coordinates were set and reset numerous times.

2. Erroneous street names come up.

3. I will inquire about directions. It will start posting directions and then stop midstream to reconfigure: either it will reboot itself or start with another set of directions. I have been directed to make a left turn where no left turn was avaialble, not even a turn off (street island, etc)

4. Sent in to shop for repairs (their preferred maintenance spot). it worked for a short while, then gave erroneous street names, wrong turn offs where there weren't any. Now it just completely freezes whenver turned on indicating that it is plugged into a USB port and to follow computer directions to proceed. it was plugged into the car outlet at the time.

There is absolutely no excuse for any of this, we should be issued full refunds for this product especially since their own folks can't troubleshoot or repair the item.

You can believe that I made sure I was in an area of clear reception, my car windows are not tinted up, the car plug is not faulty- checked by vehicle repair shop and car is 1 year old, product was not exposed to extremes in temperature.
It should be taken off of the market
