Also since you’re buying for college then I do NOT recommend a Notebook PC bigger than 15.4″ bec we have 3 DELLs incl a larger 17″ Notebook PC and the larger ones are nice but much too heavy to lug around campus as well as too big for lecture hall desks in college…

I mentioned we own 3 Dell Notebook PCs and why I recommend DELL, HP or IBM for those living in the United States is that those 3 particular PC Notebook manufacturers literally supply all the business Notebook PCs to the major corporations and Government so replacement parts are readily available esp on EBAY at even a more reasonable price than the manufacturer website. Thus in the long run, being able to get the exact replacement part extends the life on your investment.

FYI my 1st Notebook PC was Gateway bec I couldn’t afford Dell at the time and what a mistake is was when I needed to purchase a new Notebook battery

9800M GT graphics card with 512 memory, 4 gigs of ram with 2 gigs alocated to the graphics card to help it out, 320 gig hard drive at 7200 rpm, 2.26 ghz intel centrino duo that can be boosted to 2.5 ghz when needed, the graphics card says it is a GS but it is really a GT so you are getting a better deal. and it is asus. most computers even HP uses asus parts inside anyways. and again the price is 950 dollars. i play everygame right now with it. cod4 i get 125 fps with running it at 2.26 ghz speed. and all high settings.

as long as the one on the link i gave is the one you are talking about then yes it will play the games you want plus more and run autocad. i believe the hp has a 9600 or less video card. not bad but now with new games you will have to play on medium settings. with the asus having the 9800 GT in it you can play everygame on high settings. and i own it and i do play those games. i even played crysis and farcry and gta4 on it. i also play grid which is a high end game and it runs smooth. although grid is the only game i have to put it on 2.5 ghz to play. you wont be dissapointed. and it looks cool too.

dont get a acer. asus is a laptop that is now coming out and cheap but great quality. acer is cheap and cheap quality. seen to many that work great for like 6 months and then crash and break. asus again is what all brands pretty much use for there parts like the motherboard anyways so they are trusted.

***** again i have the asus one i said. from bestbuy. it actually goes up to a 2.5 ghz speed. and the monitor is a 15.6 inch however it is widescreen. so it actually is the same length as a 17 inch just not as tall. nice but then makes the resolution not as good. not bad but not as good. i still like it cause i am getting a 15.6 inch screen but looks like a 17 inch. plus a keypad next to the keyboard.
